Biography
Sound shaped by listening and place
I make music, and each project has its own shape. My work starts with organic instruments and long, patient listening, then moves between physical rooms and subtle processing.
Background
The story behind the work
My musical foundation is built on organic instrumentation and sustained listening. Early on, I was drawn to how a single sound settles into a room and how its decay carries memory, so I kept returning to instruments and recordings that let that behaviour show. From there my practice widened into independent recording, commissioned soundscapes and interdisciplinary work. Each commission asked a different question of the same material, and I learned to treat every setting as part of the composition.
I approach composition as an ongoing dialogue between physical acoustic space and subtle processing. Processing is never a costume for the sound; it is a way of listening more closely to what the room and the instrument already contain. Here’s a little about me, alongside the work I’ve been making. The pieces are the clearest account of how I think, so the biography is best read as context for the music rather than a replacement for it.
